Kathleen Evans holds a PhD in linguistics from the University of Michigan and has over two decades of experience in summer intensive language and study abroad programs. She has directed programs for both Arizona State University and Indiana University. She oversees the Language Workshop and its subsidiary programs: the Language Training Center, the Summer Language Workshops, the Indianapolis Summer Language Camps, and other externally funded language- and culture initiatives.

Nathaniel “Nate” Lanaghan is a Captain in the Indiana Air National Guard and manages the Language Training Center, Project Global Officer (GO) scholarship program, and Defense Language Instruction Service within the Language Workshop. He received his M.A. in Slavic from Florida State University, where he was a Russian language instructor. Nate studied previously at Moscow State University and worked at the US Embassy in Moscow, Russia. 

Jenny McDougall

Jenny is the Assistant Director for the Language Workshop and manages day-to-day functions. She also acts as the outreach coordinator for the Title VIII Fellowship and Project GO Scholarship. She graduated from IU with a B.A. in East Asian Languages and Cultures and a minor in Communication and Culture in 2012. She furthered her studies in Japanese at Nanzan University from 2012-2013 before joining the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program in 2015 and taught English in Japan until 2022. She returned to IU to pursue an M.S.Ed in Literacy, Culture, and Language Education and worked at the IU Office of International Services before joining the IU Language Workshop.

Wilson Mosley

Program Coordinator

Wilson Mosley acts as the event manager and outreach coordinator for the IU Language Workshop. He has an M.P.A in Nonprofit Management and International Development from Indiana University and earned a B.S.B.A. in Marketing with a specialization in Japanese at the University of South Carolina. Wilson possesses experience working in a multitude of departments and areas focused on understanding different languages, literatures, and cultures. He has visited Japan and Germany with plans to travel to more countries in the near future.   

Jack Rosswurm

BALSSI Coordinator

Jack is the Baltic Studies Summer Institute's coordinator at the Language Workshop. His primary duties include recruiting students to study BALSSI languages and developing co-curricular events for students of the three Baltic languages. He holds a Master of Arts in European Studies and a BA in International Studies, both from Indiana University. Jack is currently a graduate student in the Department of Second Language Studies. For his doctoral research, he is interested in studying sociolinguistics in the context of Estonia, as well as foreign language pedagogy in higher education.
