Thanh Phan graduated from Hochiminh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH), Vietnam with a B.A.. in English Linguistics and Literatures in 1998 and a minor in Italian in 2001. He also finished his B.A.. in Commercial Law at Hochiminh City University of Laws in 2000. He earned an M.B.A.. in Human Resource Management at Hochiminh City University of Economics & Paris Chamber of Commerce in 2004 and completed his Ph.D in International Business at Bulacan State University, The Philippines in 2012. He was professor of English and Business at USSH from 2002-2023 and is currently professor of Vietnamese Studies at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF). Thanh joined IU Language Workshop and has been professor of Vietnamese since 2024. His current research continues to focus on Vietnamese Language, Culture and Civilization.
