Shoichi Ueda is a Lecturer of Japanese in the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at Indiana University in Bloomington. Shoichi Ueda received his Master of Arts in Japanese Language Pedagogy from The Ohio State University in 2021. After receiving his M.A., Ueda then coordinated the first through third-year Japanese Language programs at The Ohio State University and Indiana University. Ueda’s research interests are primarily focused on the practical application of culturally authentic language learning approaches. Having received training in multiple pedagogical approaches, he is interested in the development of language courses and pedagogical materials that prepare students to interact in global contexts utilizing Japanese.
