Mengjie Lei is a Ph.D. student in the School of Education and an M.A. student in the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at Indiana University Bloomington. Before joining Indiana University, she taught Chinese as a lead instructor at Peking University, Macalester College, and in the Princeton in Beijing summer language program. She has taught in Indiana University’s Summer Language Workshop for the past two years and is excited to return in 2026. Her research interests focus on language ideology and language identity, particularly in the context of Chinese language education.
