Dr. Farid Saydee is a distinguished expert in world language instruction and curriculum design. Currently, he serves as a professor at Indiana University, where he teaches intensive Pashto courses, providing students with essential language skills and deep cultural insights. As a native of Afghanistan, Professor Saydee has significantly contributed to advancing language education in the United States. During his tenure as Director of Instruction at San Diego State University’s Language Acquisition Resource Center (LARC), he developed one of the nation’s most comprehensive programs for Dari and Pashto. His contributions included teaching courses across all proficiency levels and leading the development of curricula for a diverse range of world languages. A highly accomplished scholar and author, Dr. Saydee has written multiple textbooks for Dari and Pashto learners and published numerous articles on second language acquisition.
