Berit graduated from Luther College with a B.A. in history and Nordic studies, with minors in Africana studies and religion in 2023. She received the Fulbright English Teaching Assistant fellowship for Ås, Norway for the 2023-2024 school year. She split her fellowship between bilingual writing advising at the NMBU Writing Center and teaching English at the high school in Ås. She is currently in an M.A./PhD program in Scandinavian Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison pursuing the literature and cultural studies track focusing on Norwegian literature. She has taught introductory level Norwegian both in-person at the college level at UW-Madison and virtually for older adult learners through Vesterheim Folk Art school.
