Natasha Rubanova is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Comparative Literature at Indiana University. At IU, she has taught courses on 20th-century Russian literature, popular culture, and the Russian language. Rubanova is working on a dissertation project that explores the contemporary culture about the Siege of Leningrad. Her research interests include 20th-century Soviet and Eastern European literature, World War II in culture, documentary film, reenactment, and memory studies.
