Indiana University is proud to support the development of regional expertise in the states of the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe by offering Title VIII fellowships to graduate students pursuing summer language study.
The mission of the Title VIII Program for Research and Training on Eastern Europe and the Independent States of the Former Soviet Union -- administered by the State Department's Bureau of Intelligence and Research -- is to ensure that timely, independent, analysis informs foreign policy decisions of the U.S. Government.
Fellowships are awarded on a competitive basis. Priority goes to applicants who will further the program's mission to develop and maintain high-quality research and training programs critical to the foreign policy of the United States and to support and sustain American expertise on the countries of Eastern Europe and the independent states of the former Soviet Union.
