Understanding grammar and vocabulary is not enough to allow you to communicate effectively in a new language. To convey the message you intend to, you need to how more than just what words to say; you must also know how and when to say (or write) them. In other words, you must be aware of cultural conventions and expectations.
The Language Workshop culture courses are designed to help you by providing an introduction to Arab, Chinese, or Russian culture, including religion, history, popular music and cinema, sports, and cuisine through real-life scenarios and interactions and mini-lessons on topics like: ‘Common knowledge about X’ and ‘Things everyone expects you to know about Y.’
Workshop culture courses are held online in the evening, so as not to conflict with classes.
