About the Program
Participants in First-Year Russian learn to understand and speak Russian at the Novice High or Intermediate Low level. Participants who complete the course successfully will be able to navigate in an Russian-speaking environment, engage comfortably in day-to-day exchanges, and participate in simple social exchanges in Russian. They will have a solid foundation for further study or for interacting effectively in Russia or a Russian-speaking community.
